| i started reading through my old entries as i'm apt to do when considering making a post. i wrote some good shit back in the day. insightful. it's a side of me that i feel has disappeared. i don't know if i've changed or what. maybe i don't have enough time anymore to think about stuff. i can't tell if this is good or bad.
there's a show on about japan and there's a geisha feature. it reminded me how much that memoirs of a geisha movie pissed me off. first of all, most of those people were chinese, which is just insulting. and second, the main character spoke better english as a child than she did as an adult because that ziyi zhang has a Bad Attitude Towards English™. if i had made that movie, they'd only have spoken japanese and it would have been subtitled.
i bought a new car and i'm trying to sell my old one (wanna buy it?). i drove my old one for the first time in maybe a week. i'll miss my old car. there she is:
the new one is a corolla and it got 34 mpg on its first tank of gas. i got a good deal on it. it's very practical.
i want an hd camcorder. the one i want can shoot at 240 fps. imagine running a zoom zoom zoom on a boom boom at that rate in high def!. there's some software issues that have to be worked out. apparently these cameras transcode the video into this format that's not widely supported or standardized. so actually getting the video off the camera and being able to use it is not reliable. especially since my computer seems to be breaking and who knows if i can do that stuff in ubuntu. though this new ubuntu has been pretty nice.
kimi and i went to disney's california adventure last weekend. it was pretty fun. there's this one rollercoaster that was excellent and they have the tower of terror that was better than i remember it being at disney world. a month ago, we went to disneyland, which was cooler than california adventure. space mountain was the bomb!
anyway, i'm going to bed.
